Suj and Tara: wedding

It was a perfect crisp January day in Michigan for two of my very best friends to officially join their lives together. I started tearing as I made my way down the aisle to stand up for Tara and Suj, and I just kept on weeping (with joy) all day. Suj is the Will to my Grace, the tenor to my soprano, the conservative to my liberal, the martial arts action thriller to my romantic comedy. He has been my better-dressed, self-proclaimed bad-ass (but really mushier-than-mush), darker, male other half for almost a decade now, and I couldn't have chosen a more perfect, amazing woman for him if I had interviewed thousands of qualified candidates. I could marry Tara myself--she is one of those gals who is respelendent with equal parts of talent, kindness, generosity, wit, glam, brains, and genuine, darn-right, all-around wonderfulness--a rare find indeed! I was touched when they asked me to donn the sizzling red gown as a bridesmaid, and even my Viola, who adores her Uncle Shuj and Auntie Teera, was part of the day as the flower girl. I couldn't help toting along my camera and snapping a few photos throughout the day (I even snuck a few shots during the ceremony which got me in trouble with the priest). My good pal Linda grabbed my camera whenever I was otherwise engaged and lent her amazing eye--making our smattering of photos from the day more complete (and more lovely).

Uggs and fur--gotta love winter weddings.

Oh those dazzling smiles...

This is my favorite--I love how they have the same scrunched-nose laugh face.

Megan and Paul: Wedding

It's about time I blogged about Megan and Paul's nuptials! I had a baby in between their wedding and the present, so I can only offer that and the ensuing chaos as my excuse (hopefully it's a good one :) When Megan and Paul were united in marriage, I was nine months pregnant; thus, I came with a team: my trusty husband of course, along with amazing, ever-enthusiastic photographer and friend, Will of William Tangorra Photography, and my beloved pal Tara who did some shooting of her own, as well as fed me, pulled me up from crouching, and just invigorated me with her fabulousness all day. The November wedding was enchanting, a perfect autumn evening on the Cape. Megan was stunning in her mermaid dress which sheathed her tiny frame perfectly, and her face as she approached Paul at the altar was priceless--and told so much of their love story. Paul just beamed and adored his bride all day. Despite the blustery Novemeber cold, the enormous wedding party (twenty-two strong!) braved the weather for barefoot beach shots. They were such a fun, supportive crew. And this crowd knew how to party! The dance floor was not clear for a moment all night--Will and I could barely penetrate the crowd to score dancing shots (though we managed somehow). Megan and Paul were encircled by abundant love and support, and having witnessed the day from hair and makeup until the very last dance, I know their marriage is off to the most wonderful start. Congratulations to both of you and your awsome families!

A sweet shot by Will that captures the glint in Paul's eye...

Another by Will--love the angle and deep blue of the water.

Will rocking his fisheye.

I caught some yummy sun coming through the veil. Ah, Autumn sunset...

So in love!

Hope it was Merry...

The holidays have come and gone, but I just had to post a few images from the season made even more merry with the addition of our new little lass...And more wonderful each year as Viola grows and reminds us of the magic this season and its traditions once held for us...

And my hastily designed Christmas card...

Sweet Maeve

Here is Maeve's birth announcement...I threw it together so quickly and sent it out hastily with our Christmas card, but thought I'd throw it up here anyway. I decided to go with a color other than pink, and chose the colors of the nursery. Maeve is already quite the cooperative little model. It helps that she is so dainty and darling--oh and that she pretty much just lays there--or at least she did when I shot these. She is such a sweet baby; we continue to fall more and more in love with her each day.
